How To Remove Dash

Hi, Im attempting to remove the dash so I can get to the 4" speaker on the drivers side under the dash... I believe I have to remove the dash to get to it.. but do i have to remove the entire dash?

I'd say go go gadget arms would be better for that job. LOL You'd have to take the whole dash out and it's a prick of a job. Most people just end up leaving it and mounting door speakers/pods. If you do take the whole dash out you should do a "how to" guide for the tech section :beer

it makes it heaps easyer to get the dash out if you pull the steering wheel and indicator stalk

i've done it without taking out the dash going through the air vent section
1982 Ja single cam 4g63 342.6bhp @ the wheels full show car imaculate

Magic just keep undoing the bolts forget which ones

i hope you don't like your neaboughs because getting the dash out requires alot of f#*k, F#*K, C%#t, son of a bitch!!!!!!!!! its the only way to get it out. allow 2 days to get the dash out without breaking all of the old and brittle componants under it.

i took mine out so i could strip all the AC gear out to dump some weight. i filled in all the vents on the dash board except for the windscreen demister vents, i've now got just a heater core a 6inch fan and some custom ducting (yet to make but very simple) will post pics later

Be warned also that the 4" speakers are really shallow and there's not much room for anything bigger in there (unless you remove parts of the ducting).

removing the dash? its fun... because stuff breaks really easily.... :S

haha i know its f**kin crazy... I was pulling out the air vent for the windscreen dimister GENTLY, and it crumbled in my fingers like a cookie. same with the lamp cover for the boot light

I have heaps of spare boot light covers if ya need one, they are the same as cordia.
