Oil pressure and Battery Volt gauge broken... Anyway to fix?

Post by oped »

Hi guys... I dont know if this is fixable but on my dash cluster the oil pressure gauge and battery gauge thing both dont work... my battery thing is sitting at the bottom not moving as is my oil pressure gauge... Is there a way to fix these?

Also does anyone know exactly how to get the dash off so I can get to the 4" speaker under it

Sounds like the wire that comes out the back of you alternator is broken? (Very technical I know) It splits in two somewhere back there, one wire goes down to the oil pressure sender (which is down beside the oil filter). Sometimes this just falls off - have a look under the car. I don't know what your guys battery gauge runs off.

Yeah, what he said! The wire falls off all the time. Also ensure that it's free from oil and dirt before reconnecting. You'll see the wire easily, it hangs down lower then the car! :D

hahaha you were dead right with that wire. I looked under my car and there was a wire just hanging there... The only bad thing is that its been grinded half away from rubbing on the road I guess.

That shouldn't be a problem - it's just a standard female spade crimp terminal. You can get those from Dick Smith or any other place that sells electrical connectors.
