Do your sums again, it will cost a more than that mate. But it will still be worth it. :) The major factor in your favour is the YEN/AUD exchange rate is at a 10 year high. It will be ~30% cheaper than when I bought my cars.

Hi again im sure its within 15% right unless my
broker forgot somthing but if he has then he can wear
his own mistake,(he did quote it) It will however be a self comply
useing our engineer (aussie doors, belts, tyres) we have heaps of that stuff, still it wont matter as long as it gets here in one piece ay ?

The brokers quote is complied AUD $7150.00
then I added $600 for rego ("she`ll be rite") even if it turns out to
be $2000.00 more it will be worth it

hhhmmmmmm

Wrong - Jap wideys were available as 2.0L 8v and dash headed. However they are harder to find and more expensive. I think they were also only available in the 86-87 models.

Only the GSR-II & GSR-III (Narrowbodys) had the 2.0L 8v Interccoled Engine in Japan. Also, interesting that it's actually 73 for some reason (can anyone read Japanese? ) not 50 DASH Widebody's produced...........

Though 500 8v 2.0L Widebodies were produced and sold to Europe :beer
Computer games don't affect kids I mean if PacMan affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music :D

Hi bodies, After thinking I was the bomb for getting the widie
for $7.1/2 on the road (sssooooooooo cheap) I got a wake up call
from my broker that was nothing like that, Lucky I love these things
or I`d be spewin bigchunks

Anyway NXTIME you were r.i.g.h.t. you         , You know I see your grinnin from here,
and if I was smarter I should have had a look at his white-widie
but damage control has agree`d that THIS is "ok by her.
THANK Fa-k for that or me might have a mobile bed room to myself

buy NXTIMES carit really does cost a lot to import these
babies.

gee I hope you didn't get stung too hard. I have been thinking to myself over the last week that I should have bought it but just did not trust the situation to be be 100%. Was your broker the issue or the seller? Hope it turns out alright at least you now have a widebody! Worth every cent when you get it.

bloody Bokers

Post by tri26t »

Yeah its the broker thats the problem (Well No) its
the fact that the widie has to be complied before
being released to me (by the broker)so its added $$$$.$$+ to what
would be a cheap car. The car was only $3645 AUD "Right"??
but for all who have previously imported a single unit you will know
that it costs a lot more than someone importing 20 units.
so the lesson is to try getting your car through someone who
is bringging in heaps o cars, and not have to carry the whole load
yourself. Nxtime was on the money about this one, but it
wont be long before I see those sweet lines of GSR-VR (shp)
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The way I thought I was gonna do it was,buy it (done)
get the broker to handle the(yard to ship (fob) through to exit customs)
I pick it up / throw some aussie doors on it / take it to our engineer /
comply / rwc "and they`re off and racing " cant be done the broker reckons.

cheers:Phil.
