its the log book that drives the price up with group C and group A cars
unlike other historic touring cars you cant log a new car

I reckon that's been for sale for close to a year, maybe longer...

was talking to dean the other day, the only reason he has it up for sale is because he cant afford to put a new set of slicks on it every time he races it, the other guys in group A like terry ashford etc are all millionaires who can afford to throw money at their cars ad nauseum, dean's just sick of being uncompetitive in it..

i dont know if its worth 85K, but hey, its an original group A car, so he can name whatever price he wants. as has been mentioned, its the history of the car thats worth the money, condition is partially irrelevant, also he has a lot of rare race type spares that come with it. if u bought it and spent $10000 refurbishing it, u would get your money back eventually, as, again, its a log booked group A car that ran at bathurst FFS!!!
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

any vehicle with race history is worth big $$$$$$ money .

you want it you pay ....

its the consumer who drives up the price , look at what all the muscle cars are demnding , 1mill for a xy ho , please ....................

thats a joke but people pay that , for what ...
a mill can get you a stable consisting of , camaro ,mstang , cobra replica , and at least 5 more 30k cars , you will still have money to maintain them and cash to build a big boys shed to store them .

:D
old skool jap ...........
there is no substitute...........

As a comparison, I notice there's an early Skyline Grp A for sale in Unique Cars this month - asking $125K.

Chooky's car does have race history but as usual its a Starion so not likely to attract a real lot of interest in the average historic race car market.
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
