Oil leak???

Post by Marc »

Hey all,

i'm losing alot of engine oil but there is no visible oil leaks on the road at all.

i can see some oil from drivers side of the engine bay kind of near the power steering box/under air filter and you can see alot of oil stains underneath the chasis. It's totally dry on the other side of the engine bay though.

any ideas on where the leak is from?

i'll try post sum photos soon

thanks alot

Maybe you're burning it, not actually leaking it!?

maybe its coming from where your timing cover is connected to your block? or perhaps where the dipstick housing goes into the block.

i was losing a fair bit through the gasket on the turb return line, couldn't see it, but could smell it when parked and lifting the bonnet straight away

breather hose

Post by 13secJA »

its fairly comon, for them to blow oil through the breather hose into the air box. it sits in the air box slowly getting sucked back into the motor. take your air cleaner out and have a look to see how much oil is in the air box.
