Starion good for drift?
Starion good for drift?
Hi guys
I did a search and didn't find too much..
Any opinions on how these drift?
I'm looking at giving it a shot in a mitsu!
I cant drift the Galant VR4, so I'll keep that for drag / track and might get a stazza for drift / daily....
How are parts?
Whats the usual Price?
Reliability?
How difficult is it to go twin cam?
Thanks guys

There's a t/c starion for sale in Melbourne at the moment - check the "for sale" section - The EVO 3 yellow one. Conversion done by Chris.
Would be a great starting point for what you're looking to do.
Cheers

Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

The biggest issue with a drift starion is the cost of repairing it if you hit a wall or curb etc.
Powerplant: Chipped stock ECU, 2044cc, 8.5:1, head intake enlarged and polished, exhaust manifold enlarged,
Balance-shafts eliminated, Intercooled, TC06 @ 10psi, 2.5" high flow exhaust system and dump pipe.

exactly... if you want to get into drifting get a r32... parts and bolt on upgrades are everywhere...Starion_Turbo wrote:The biggest issue with a drift starion is the cost of repairing it if you hit a wall or curb etc.
If you do decide to drift your starion make sure you only smash the rear half as I'm still trying to chase some front parts... eg... a new nose cone, grill and front RHS guard... :beer

I think the hardest part about drifting a starion is getting suspension settings right as well sourcing suspension components, where as the s13s and skylines have been done so many times there are plenty of suspension parts out there as well as the right settings. On the otherhand using a starion is more orginal than the countless silvias and skylines out there.

starions drift well, only real problem is that coil overs will cost u about $2000 instead of the $1300 or so they'd cost if u owned an S13.. the actual suspension design is very good, excellent steering lock, very strong driveline, just need a REALLY savage clutch as the starion handbrake is generally near useless! clutch kicks are easier anyway me thinks..
dont be too put off by the panels side of things, just dont f*ckup LOL

Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.
