Spark plug wires....

Hey!

I don't find similar topic so I decide to create new.

Thing is that I can't choose right spark plug wires to my Stazza.
NGK doesn't have right wires for 4G63T (only for 2.6T). So which wires are the best (beside NGK) for 4G63T .

Also I decide to change spark plugs. I choose NGK BR7ES - that's good?...maybe +1 colder...?? Or maybe should I choose something else?

ps.My car has a few mods: MBC-10psi, straight 2.5" exhaust, and in the future IC

Spark leads shouldn't be car specific, just length specific. Get the lengths of your existing ones and go and buy a set that are the same!

As for your plugs, the Starion is in the books over here and I just buy the stock one. I can't find one at the moment, but I'm sure someone will have the part number! :D

NGK = B7ES Stick with that one.

As for plug leads, u can buy off the shelf topgun ones to match your length (8000 - 10,000 ohm / meter)

Topgun MAX300 8.8mm (400 - 800ohm / meter)

Topgun Pro racing 10mm (2000 - 3000ohm/m) which are $190au / set.

topgun....hmm....here in poland they are hard to get, generally at all.

I think I'll decide on:

-NGK BR7ES 0.8 gap (or maybe +1 colder?)
-NGK Premium wire set 8079 ME51 (from Starion 2.6T)

Will this set be OK?

truespinmice get the b7es as the br7es is a resistor plug. Topgun i think is an australian brand, another option is bosch as they also have spark plug wires.

Topgun is made under federal mogul, which I belive is US based.

Fair enough, though given bosch is made in germany it might be easier for truespinmice to have access to them.

BOSCH is not a problem for me, problem is that BOSCH have a bad reputation for spark plugs and spark plug wires - german wires into japanese car

they don't come true. But Bosch fuel pomps,coils and others are one of the best

Btw. I use Bosch wires in my second car: Opel (vauxhall) Calibra and they are OK.

RiceThief why I should buy b7es instead of br7es? What is this resistor (against interference)?

ps.probably wires will be from 2.6T, if only I get them :)

Btw, NGK leads FTW !!!

If you'd seen the abuse (enviroment conditions -> air / oil / fuel) I put a set through a long time ago for them to still fire prefectly after the months of torture

I've only used bosch wires recently but they seem to be better than the topgun ones i used previously. I've always used the ngk and champion gold plugs and they both have better build quality than the bosch plugs.

As for resistor on the plugs, they are a 5k ohm resister built into the plug to reduce radio fequency interference. The only problem you might face is with the resistor plug is they can reduce the spark of your sparkplug if the coil output is too low, which will cause your engine to miss.

ok i'm gonna say it. i have had nothing but problems with top gun leads! i wont touch them again. i use either bosch leads on standard type applications or eagle's on high performance stuff. the bosch leads are fine, its only the plugs that are no good! u will have a hard time finding a mechanic that uses bosch plugs..

i have had good results with eagle's... :beer

Top Gun leads = BAD

Champion plugs = WORSE

Magnecors are the best leads for sure. Maybe hard to find in Poland :)
The original spiral core design much copied now.

Had a set of the original orange leads on my car for 7 years still working fine. Only reason I changed that particular set was I converted to direct fire ignition.

You will only have to buy leads once

Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

If you are on a budget the only other leads I would recommend are the spiral core Bosch leads that Super Cheap sell. Good low resistance leads.

okey guys, I have just ordered this set:
-NGK B7ES (spark plugs)
-NGK RCHD 411 (leads) , dealer told me that these leads are dedicated for 4g63t so I trust him

I receive this set in 5-6 days.

I let you know how this set work.
