Difference between KYB-G2's 1983'86 and 1986/89 part#'s

Post by DJ_NoVa »

As the topic says
just wondering if there is a difference between the part numbers
KYB has on front shock inserts.
the rears are the same numbers,
however the fronts that i need having a 1984 are #365029
and the 1986/89 states #365060
these are the G2's, i'm talking bout.
So if any one knows would be a great help in understand what inserts i should be getting...

well i can see it's gatehred intrest,
but either no one knows or not worth replying....
bascially i found cheap shocks including shipping to australia for a compelte set and trying to see if they can do a bulk order but was wondering if any one knew this info before i ask on the forum so if anyone wanted new shocks we could grab them,
but coz most starions here finish round the 86' year is it worth chasing these coz we own 82's til 86's..... thats all...
cheers,

I know that one of the forum members (bmai) got a set off ebay from the US (either the KYB's or the Tokico's) and they were fine. I am not 100% sure on this as it was a while ago and he hasn't been around for ages.

Perhaps ask on the US forums to comfirm as they have both widebody and narrow bodies.

Call KYB, they would know exactly the dimensional/technical differences between the two part no's or even be able to look at both and spot and real differences for you, no point second guessing by asking here.

One is for the widebody, one is for the narrow. But it excludes those with the adjustable suspension, so who knows? Under $500 delivered is a very good price.

hi

you needed part number: #365029 to suit narrow body.
I don't know for sure the difference between them but my guess is that the 365060 are a bit longer to allow the wheel to be further out in the flaired arches of the widey, this would explain your discovery that they are a bit long for your car.
Powerplant: Chipped stock ECU, 2044cc, 8.5:1, head intake enlarged and polished, exhaust manifold enlarged,
Balance-shafts eliminated, Intercooled, TC06 @ 10psi, 2.5" high flow exhaust system and dump pipe.
