The cat drank some fuel
The neighbours cat drank some fuel from a plastic parts bucket the other day. Took off up the road for about 50 metres then stopped and keeled over. Went up and checked it and found it had run out of petrol.
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
avtur and jetA1 are bassically just industrial kero with polymer additives. yeah it's tops living on a RAAF base, except for all the raafies....(it's fucked being one of the 20 army guys here)
yeah theres big fines for using avgas on the road... most cops don't carry fuel sample kits with them though.
a meteor engine... nice. there is a guy that is currently putting a viper jetturbine into a l300 van. the viper is from a macchi.
so camo, your old man was a sumpy? you must go through a lot of bandages... with his knuckles dragging around every where... J/k just kidding man.
i don 't see how he would have had much experiance with fuel mixing though. fuels are premade by refineries...
belive me you get over the sound of jet engines real fast! they are really fucking annoying at times.

Hehe scape my knuckles all the time, well he also does joyflight work and tinkers with light experimentals, the only ties he has with the raaf now are through cadets he is the CO of bathurst 28th sqn. and teaches engine mechanics at tafe. Problem is he is never home and is always working.
He only went to richmond like last week.
Not making fuels as such but chemical additives can be added to remove some effects from fuels ie. the silty white residue left from avgas in cars. etc.
Rod & Shame Jones make up fuels based off avgas and other high octane rated fuels for their rallying evo's.
not too say cause he was in the raaf he would know fuel, but working with engines all the time allows them to know whats needed by an engine and also what adding other can benefit from them.
Glynn, there was always i spose "friendly" rivalry between the defense crew at amberly airbase, army airforce and navy stick to their own.... the navy especially stick with each other hehe.
Cheers.

:-) the navy certainly do stick together.... so i've heard. the majority of raafies are good. it's just the fresh blokes out of rookies... theres also rivalry because the RAAF runs fixed wing and we run rotary wing (it's hard to pic up troops in a fixed wing :-) )
i used to race moto-x and i liked to mix about 50:50 AVGAS 130 with premium unleaded. being a two-stroke theres absolutley no problem with the lead clogging the EGO sensor.
i wonder if usuing this mix would be ideal for those of us that have EGO sensors on our staz's? in theory it should at least take twice as long to clog the sensor?
my mate had a simliar inccedent with his cat, except he spilt fuel on it and it turnt into a dog... when he lit the match it wen't WOOF!!
