Nice NEW 16x8" rims, 4x114.3, good offset, from otomoto

Post by 7th_skyline »

About time there were more reasonable 4 stud, rear wheel drive offset wheels on the market. I've got nothing to do with otomoto, just thought people might find these to be a bloody good deal.

Scroll down their page a little, they are going to be selling some very nice 6 spoke TE37ish 16x8", 4x114.3, +10 offset rims . Excellent for thinking people who aren't into bling and want decent rim width and a good offset. $279 each which isn't too bad.

Also a cool option for S13 drift cars with wider front guards.Available only in 16x8 with an offset of +10mm and a 4x114.3 bolt pattern. We will have bronze, white and gunmetal grey for $279 per rim.
I reckon the white or grey would look a treat on a Starion.

Theres also piles of random secondhand old school 15s and stuff further down. But yeah, new wheels, right stud pattern, reasonable width, good offset, looks like good brake clearance. Can't go wrong!
You can fit 4 spots under 16s so hey, you don't need to go any bigger

I would reckon 8" +10 would be a pretty decent offset (0 offset would be better no doubt) to fit a staz. Should fill the guards out a bit.

Wheel offset calculator says that compared to 6" +20 offset:

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 15mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 35mm

Compared to 6.5" +18 offset:

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 11mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 27mm

So Unless the stock wheels are really close to the struts seems like it should be a goer?

On 8" rims I'd be going 205-225 wide, you'd need a 50 profile? depending on preference.

i have been bothering wheel manufacturers and tyre shops for ages about the lack of wheels for low-offset 4 stud cars.. and i had no success SO i just spent over $1500 buying the widebody 5 stud parts off charlie (NXTIME) so i could buy nice second hand wheels for my car... (and big brakes big LSD)

and then these come out.. in a copy of my favourite style.. (TE37`s)

oh well i`ll just have 2 buy some genuine TE37`s then second hand 5 stud..

at least starions australia wide have a good choice available now.. and FKN HELL these would look MAGIC on the red car i`m selling (in bronze colour)

and yes they are the perfect size for a starion: incar phils old simmons that are now on gary`s car are 18 by 8.5 and 18 by 10 with a 12mm offset front and rear, so if they fit (which they do) then these 16 by 8`s with a 10mm offset sure as hell will.. they`ll fill out the guards quite nicely eh..

i have an account with otomoto, so i`ll suss out about a group buy if u like..

and tyre sizes like 205/50, 205/55, 215/50, 225/50 will fit and be the right diameter. my personal favourite is 205/50/16 on an 8 inch rim, as it stiffens up the sidewall nicely and spreads out the tread. reasonably easy to find second hand too!
