well i suppose as they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating! time will tell as to whether i get what i want for it. and i most definitely wont be making a profit! i just think that if u can spend $1000 to make maybe $2-3000 then its gonna be worth it.
i just sold a sweet little bearing blue JA to a guy on the sunshine coast here (spud - he`s on the forum here now) and i didn`t have to advertise it or anything. i got what i wanted for it, he`s getting a nice little car that doesn`t need any work (i have taken care of all that - no dodgy roadworthies here eh) and to top it off his mate loves it so much he`s quite possibly gonna buy the red spoilered JA i was building as my drift car before gary`s JB came up for sale. (hope i havn`t jinxed myself now by talking about it)
so i think i`ve done pretty well on the sunshine coast to make all the young fellas aware of how good a car a starion really is, there must be more starions out n about around here per capita than any other place in australia! and there will be a few more soon too! :beer

It's a bastard to sell a modified car for a profit, but he managed, so it's all about finding the right buyer.Entaran wrote:AXELR8 which was in pretty damned good condition and running a full vr4 engine with haltech and 12.x timeslips only made 8.5k or something. It was a bastard of a car to sell too.

I sold my 3 cyl Swift in 1999 for $25k
It did have a $2000 paint job and was the loudest car in Australia, but it cost maybe $15k........

I think if your willing to take the risk GO FOR IT
if successful it will make all of our cars (and others of your own) more valuable in the marketplace
But then I paid $800 (pacific pesos/NZ$ too) for mine
Of course you can now say as seen on Top Gear.....

My Honda Civic extreme SPL car is the loudest in Australia at present, doing 164.4 on the new meter (about 170dB on the old mic) using just one amp. We're running it at Adelaide Autosalon next weekend with a lot more power. :)
