I haven't done the bushes in the Starion yet, but I did the Sigma ones a while back - you're looking at around $300 for the front (I think that included new ball joints though), same for the rear. Pretty sure Nolathane has listings for Starions (I seem to remember checking it out at some stage) but they shouldn't be dissimilar to other Mitsu's of the same age and i'm sure they can cross-reference them if there's a problem. Noise with urethane bushes is really only a concern on some types of suspension - I had no noise whatsoever in the Sigma (full urethane in all front/rear bushes). No noticible difference in NVH levels, but definitely felt more solid.

Its a little ragged, tried pasting direct from the word doc to thread.
Still lotsa info here.

NOTE 1: When using the WHITELINE BMR40 rear sway bar,
the supplied D bushes wont fit, and nor will any other bush.
There is just enough space to fit some heatshrink over the bar,
which I greased with silicon grease.
This worked out ok.

NOTE 2: One of the best handling mods for a steering box equiped car,
is to fit a idler arm bush kit. Highly recomended.

Dont you just love the edit feature?

Just to clarify, were you referring to Koni Sport (Yellow) or Koni Specials (Red)? I was referring to the Koni Sport which is the firmer of the two which I can live with, but a fraction softer is what I prefer. I'll talk to the Peddars guys armed with this info.

That info is just gold. It'll go a long way to getting the Galant handling a little less like 'Uncle Buck's car (similar to an EA Falcon - a boat). Of course front & rear shocks/springs do most, I may as well do the bushes while it's apart. I see you have to drop the entire subframe and shocks out to replace the rears, jeez.

replacing the bushes on the rear arms was a MAJOR PAIN.
dont try it unless armed with an air saw and a press.
and when using the press, be careful NOT to BEND the arms.
sounds silly i know, but thats what happened to me.

I replaced everything on Merlin's list and then a few other items (like rear struts, etc). I think the retail cost was about $1500. Some items I didn't get from Pedders but got from Whiteline instead, and the adjustable strut tops are another mob (I think it might be proflex?)

i supect they're around 400-500 a pair do we have to modify the strut tops?

Koni 86-2105SP1.
These are red ones.
Same for both front and rear. Strut top needs thread welded in to the top of it so Koni cap can screw in.
