About tuning

Post by RS »

Now I have turbo from Galant VR4 on my G54B. I want to approache 250-300 HP on 1.5 Bar ( 22 Psi ). Now i making non jet valve head. Will install wiseco forged pistons , elliminate balanceshaft , install con KN air filter , install 2.5 ( 65 mm ) exaust with downpipe without catalizators and other ecology shit ( In my coutry I can do what I want - our police nothing say to you :D ) , instal 21 lbs flywheel and 240 mm ceramic sport clutch and use ARP bolts and good gaskets ( metalic head gasket ) everywhere.
Question -
1) stock crank and rods will be normally work with it?
2) I need performance fuel pump?
3) May be I did mistake in my plans?
Please divide your experience!

And from where will be cheaper to get performance parts ( price + dellivery ) from Austaralia or USA. Who can help with it? Oscar?

You will need a performance fuel pump and new/forged conrods, you might also want to go for a 3" exhuast running that much boost. It would be a good idea to convert to multi point injection aswell to prevent leaning the pistons out on 2 & 3. Also I'm not sure the 14B wheel out of a galant vr4 would be ideal for 22psi, a 16G compressor wheel would be much better.

Rods only forged or new?
TEP said that orygynal rods are exelent :? and 2.5 exaust it's the best too if you did;t built a werrrrry powerful sport car. Where is the thrue?
What fuel pumps are good or best? To 300 hp and higher? Maybe bosh - it;s easy to get in Europe. What part number?
This turbo from galant is only for nearly time use - later Garet ( Some big ). MPI also later - it very expensive and hardly to instal.
Thaks!

A Bosch 0580 254 910 fuel pump will be plenty for your goals.
