No problems at all from a fitting point of view, but in the looks department, they need to be moved out just a tad. Having your wheels really fill out your guards makes such a dramatic impact to the way your car looks.

As has been said, the Starion widebody 16 x 7" (+18 offset) wheel will fit fine on the front of a narrowbody Starion. There will be plenty of room left in the guard. The rear 16 x 8 (-10 offset) wheel will also fit the narrowbody Starion rear. HOWEVER, you will more than likely have to lip the guards depending upon tyre size and vehicle height.

Also, according to my calculations, I believe that the wider SHP wheels might fit the narrowbodies. Maybe someone from the US can confirm this.

Richard,

The late US widey's also had what was called the Sports Handling Package option which included wider wheels: 16 x 8 (+18) fronts and 16 x 9 (0 offset) rears.

If you want some huge aftermarket wheels for the widey, I have a set or two that might interest you ;)

There was a member on the starquest boards that had done it with the SHP wheels, 'Zactech', or similar was his nick (awesome name, muhahaha). He had to cut the rear guards a little and get them rolled from memory. Looked absolutley tits tho, hmmmm hm. If i was back in NZ i coule post up a few piccies of narrowbody starions with the widebody wheels... They just look SO good :).

Stock WB front 16x7 +18 offset has a front spacing of 70.9mm and a backspacing of 106.9mm
Stock WB front (SHP) 16x8 + 18 has front spacing of 83.6mm and back spacing of 119.6mm
Stock WB Rear 16x8 -10 offset has a front spacing of 111.6mm and backspacing of 91.6mm
Stock WB Rear (SHP) 16x9 +/-0 offset has front spacing of 114.3mm and backspacing of 114.3

NB: add 8-10mm to these figures as the actual lip extends outward past the measured wheel width.

Distance from the mounting face of the wheel hub to the outer edges. Outside edge = Frontspacing, Inside edge = Backspacing. Really really good info to have it you'd like to se if the SHP wheels will fit, go measure, go now! go go go.

Are those SHP wheels on that one??? Mine are ordered and paid for now i managed to get 2 x 7" Fronts and 2 x 8" SHP fronts all in great condition so they should all be here by xmas all going well. Think il be asking for tyres 4 xmas now from everybody :D Have to say the SHP 8s were hard to track down, but all 4 wheels only set me back $620NZD shipped so gotta say im pretty happy with that (until customs sting me for tax on the way into nz haha)

I saw those 2x 8" shp rims on ebay. Oscar pipped me at the post for them :x
But that's cool as I would have passed them on to a member on here as they're pretty rare.

Good deal! Make sure you post pics when they're on.

They look incredible when polished up!
