speaking of limited 'gettin giggy wid it' rotational.... stuff. the widebody cuts out at 5k. (2.6L astron) why lower than 2L? i heard a few times (i dont plan on trying it) the Americans, balance shaft equipped, taking them to high 7k almost 8 on a regular basis without causing a piston or 2 from fileing for divorce against its con rod once it realised it 'swings both ways' with the fat crank shaft in the office downstairs?

i think i need sleep ? :wtf:

Scum,
what turbo do you have on it? If it's the stock TD05 that's a big part of your problem too much back pressure. Put on a high flowed TC06 it will go heaps better. The 2.6 has the extra cubes to spin it up real nice.
My widebody revs to 6500 RPM no problem at all (with the stock TBI) still making good power as well.

mine might too, but the computer turns the ign off. both of my widebodys do this at 5000rpm. the ign cuts and you get a disturbing puff of black fuel smoke from the exhaust. they both do it very consistently, one had 3 different turbos on it and it was in the same spot every time. I haven’t checked the ign power from the ecu, actually, I haven’t checked anything. it is so consistent with both cars I would find it hard to believe its anything other than a rev cut. bet it has something to with both having homosexually inclined auto trannies.

i hate those things so much. :x

Richie, put the manual box in there and fit a TC/TD06. The only thing those auto's are good for is boat anchors.

Or tricked up and used in drag racing applications ;)

Power usually drops off using a standard cam at around 4500.
