Next Queensland meet?

Post by DD Phil »

I had a great time the other weekend.

We should do it again soon, somewhere where we can do a bit more "spirited" driving.

I know a great place...

MT Glorious Road between Fernvale (Brisbane valley) and Samford seriously great road for corners, claims at least half a dozen motorbikes every year.

Either of you feel free to set one up. I'd suggest holding off for a while though - purely to get everyone excited again. The 2nd last meet we had too close to the first and it was a dismal failure.

I am all up for Either QR raceway, (not drags) or skid pad. Now that would be a great get together. And I have absolutely no problems with organising

Yep, I'll be in that... around the end of June, Willowbank or some place with some space and long flat roads, big park, and a BBQ.
Meet early so we can stare at our cars for longer and compare notes.
Sorry Redzone, didn't get to catch up as much as we should have. Had to get back after the fish and chips, long drive back to Jimboomba.

How about First thing in July??? Would people be interested in that? Either QR or Skid Pad. I can find out pricing. QR would be nice for normal racing, but I think skidpad would be a better option. It does not require fast cars for those who have stocko's and it is very fun. And like Ash said, it can teach some people a thing or two on how to control their starions when sliding

Mt Cotton has a couple of nice short road courses also.

Yet the cost of fuel to get there would cost more then most of the starions with the way pricing is these days

Woody it would be gr8 if we can do both Qld Raceway and Mt Cotton skidpan but a month or so apart so those who
need a change of undies can recover. What do you think??? Cheers

I would be all for that. Maybe do skidpad first up, and wait a bit for the QR track. But if thats the case, maybe we should give a little more time before the first one so people can get there cars running and save some money for the events. Maybe mid to late July then? Then the next one about one month or slightly more later. What does everyone think? That way, not everyone has to actually do both if they don't like one. But would be cool if everyone could come and watch to atleast show support.

qld raceway is fn expensive to hire the track out, around $2200 to use it for half a day last time we asked. mt cotton skidpan is awesome and should be alot cheaper... doubt we would get enough attendance for qld raceway without asking non starions.

and u gotta get non refundable money UPFRONT before u book 2, to cover your ass! dont get caught out by ppl saying they`re coming then backing out...

and holden driver training centre at norwell(yatala) is even better than mt cotton, but REALLY expensive to hire out.
