have you ever watched bush mechanics on abc??

our indigenous travellers use a window washer pump as a a fuel pump when it breaks down
thats gold
The VL pump is a perfect fit and plenty enough delivery for any starion. but dont buy from a big spare parts store go to a injection specialist, they will have a bosch replacement for everything, cheap. my 911 turbo pump was $180 or so.
...you've got me. Just where is this black box exactly. I have a mitsubishi workshop manual with a full exploded view of the fuel tank and all components. Can'nt see a black box!!
Anyway I don't think its a problem. The pump is what you have to replace and there's heeps of info on this forum to do that.
cheers Ric
PS When I replaced my pump I also cleaned out the tank. Hot soapy water (few times) and a good shake finishing with a couple of bottles of metho to remove last traces of water. Have done 120000K's since and no problems.
That's just it....I've already replaced the pump....I just had to rewire it a bit, and I left out the black box thing because it looked a bit stuffed..(it was located at the back of the pump, where the wires connect to it...just at the wire clamp on the side of the bracket)....Could that be the problem with it not working???

Unlikely, unless it's gone short circuit - but then the box/wires would be a bit melted.
Starion nutter since 1988...

Idles for about 15sec to 1min... Only thing is, as soon as I touch the accelerator the car dies...What the hell is going on here? I'm getting fed up with it all..........
Have a squiz at your injectors and make sure they're firing properly.
Check the wiring to your injectors, and make sure you have a good connection all the way from the ECU to the injectors, and to the resistor pack providing power to the injector solenoids.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it not starting, but after cranking (via the key), the negative terminal of the battery is pretty warm...Positive is still pretty cold...
