Side Skirts

Post by Glen GSR III »

Hi guys,

I was thinking of jumping on the fibreglassing bandwagon and getting a mould made up for my side skirts. (See Avatar) :D

Hope to have a better pic up soon but in the mean time you'll find them in Cookies "complete racing package" post in buy/sell. They are the same as the ones im thinking of getting made up.

Just wanted to get any expressions of interest, IMO the skirts enhance the look of the car greatly.

Obviously depending on the price of the mould, I'm hoping the price will be around $150-$200 a set

I think the initial mold costs a bit, but then after it should be cheap. I would suggest looking into the commodore sideskirts. Because I believe an old friend had a set on his JA but it was cut to be slightly shorter. Which isn't hard todo if you know fibreglass. Look into it because it might be cheaper then to get a mold made up instead of from scratch. OR a slightly more expensive but still cheap option get your set molded. Reason getting the commoder one molded would be cheaper is because they already have a MOLD. They just need to resize the length of the mold for you. Simpler then doing a mold from scratch I think.

Take it to Jetspeed and get a quote. I would direct you to my painter, but I don't think he makes molds. Jetspeed are not the best, but thet do make them.

I know of a Yellow Starion that has BMW side skirts shortened to fit his JA. They were square-ish and suited the Starion lines more, I'm not certain what year model they were off, but they were done back in the early 1990's.
