WTB: Stock Muffler - Pref Sydney

Post by LxS »

Hi
Looking for a stock muffler from a starion.. my engines nearly finished and I still have to pass EPA before they let me re-register the car..

OR anyone with a very tiny tiny aftermarket one? no bigger than 2in though.
***Need to drop from 104dB to under 96db***

Sydney location preferred but whatever... i need to find one..

Thanks,
Alexis

A roll of chicken wire stuffed into your muffler will drop the decibel level down that low!!! Just don't drive it on boost with it in it! But it would pass an inspection!

My Galant GSR runs a 2.5" mandrel bent system from the RPW 4-1 headers down. It was 104.9db @ 4500rpm.

I used a sink strainer from woolies, $1.49 for 2 2.5" diametre with about 20 little holes in it). I placed this in the flange before the muffler. Took it back and was measured at 94.db.

If your sys is 2.5" use that, otherwise a metal plate with a few 1/4" or 3/8" holes will do the trick..

I kno it's not what you asked for, but might be a good option for you!
