Surge Tank

Post by RiceThief »

Does the starion have any fuel surge problems when used in a track environment.

Cookie do you have a surge tank setup in your car?

No problem until below 1/8 of a tank. I'm using a VL turbo pump with the standard pipe work and pickup. In my track car on a hot day below 1/8 of a tank the pump can grumble a bit sometimes so I fill it up then. Easy to hear because I have no back trim or seats . Never gone low enough to see if it will cutout on corners or anything.
However I am using more fuel than stock. I don't remember any issues when we were racing them.

Thanks mrb1 should make the fuel upgrade easier.

R3d - its illegal to have a fuel system in the cabin which is what the boot area of a starion is considered as, the surge tank needs to be mounted under the car.

No surge tank setup in my car. I get the same symptons as mrb1 except it happens when I have less than 1/4 tank.
