installing a cd playa?
hey need a stereo!!!! but cant fit it between the mounting brackets! what do i do or can i buy one off some one?
Here's mine:
Unit was already in when I bought it, but have since changed the head unit! Not to mention the amount of times I've taken it out to mess the with the centre console! Basically the top half of the face of the console is new! The previous owner made it out of plastic! I just sprayed it so it looks the same! It's not the neatest job around the actual head unit, but that's why they give you the plastic shroud! The mounting brackets will fit now that the face in gone! Starions sadly were not fitted with CD players! Strange story though, my old man had a Stazz in like 1990 and it had a CD player, but you had to load the CD into a cartridge first...?

Show us what you have done already. Do you mean it is too small or too big? What is the reason that it does not fit? You should just be able to slot it into the face plate and secure it using the tabs on the head unit and most units have a bolt at the back that you can secure as well.

When it comes to the mounting brackets, just modify as you see fit. For most that I've done, the stereo has fitted between the mounts but not the face (which I just extend). One of my cars this clearly wasnt the case, and the previous owner had just cut the top section of the mounting plates off. I need to fix that, as the only thing holding my stereo in place is the cover :o
