Widebody is here

I was pretty dissapointed in the condition of the car when I got it. The photos that I recieved made it look a lot better than what it actually is and like a dope I trusted the pics to be accurate. Seller also conveniently 'forgot' to mention a few obvious problems like broken rear light, shoddy brakes and huge coolant leak - subsequently I think I paid far too much.
Lesson - the $300 for a return flight would have been well worth it. I won't make the same mistake again.

On the bright side I now have a widebody that is totally rust free and wont take too much to bring back to what I want it to be. Also have no qualms about cutting it up and making it mine, where I would have if it was a brilliant concours condition car.

Now to sell the JB so I can get it registered....

Looks really nice in that picture aswell, tasty.

I do think, however, that your JB is a sexier car. One of the sexiest possibly, i dont think you'll have a problem selling it.

There was a set of new rear lights that were meant to be with the car!

At least the problems aren't too bad with the widebody. That JB is right up there with the widebody in the looks department IMHO.

Yeah, as much as I love widebodies, I'd take the JB.

against the trend it seems, i'd trade my guards in for wider ones any day. Looks good in that picture though, only problem i can see is which rims are sexier...

Don't worry lads - the stock wheels will be going. First mods will be suspension and a nice set of simmons. After rego though.

Yeah, I got that disappointed feeling when I first got it from shipping (damaged during being shipped). But you get over it!
The thing you need to get used to, is how it drives so much different to the 2.0L JB or any narrowbody 2.0L....
with the extra weight and lazy 2.6L....
I'm not surprised to hear about the brakes, but my suspension is pretty firm and handles well with the wider rims.

I'm not sure how much you exactly paid for it, but I dont think you paid too much when you consider how rare it is in Oz,
and what people pay for those old Fords & Holdens etc.....
and the widebody definitely has the classic look! :)

I hope the JB finds a good new home :beer

Both cars look great. However, once you have a set of fat Simmons on the widebody, the JB will be all but a memory. 18 x 10 or 11 rears, 18 x 9.5 for the fronts. :beer You are one lucky bugger.

exactly, the widebody is like a blank canvas, admittedly a damn sexy blank canvas.... the jd looks damn nice, easily one of the nicest ones on here, but theres not much more you could do imo to improve it, good timing for a new project id say.... :D

your a lucky lucky man :)
