Starion competing at Rally Australia

Post by RallyStarion »

For anyone who is interested or is going to be at the Rally next weekend the organisers are holding a "Legends of Rallying" support event at the Gloster Park special stage before the WRC cars arrive. Drivers will be in similar cars that they won their Aust. titles in and Dinta Officer is going to be driving his original Starion again. Other drivers include Geoff Portman in a 1600 Datsun, Bob Watson in a Renault Gordini, Barry Lowe, Murray Coote, Ross Dunkerton in a 240 Z, plus a few others.
Fingers crossed we can win it.

Brian.

ps. If the car comes back from Perth in time we shall be at the Alpine Rally in December as Zero car.
Dirt is for racing on, Bitumen is for getting there.

if you want to see some older pics of brian's rally starion in action, go to http://www.vicrally.com.au and go to the photos section and search for 'starion'.

There's also some recent photo's of another rally starion in this topic:

If I remember, i'll hook my lappy up to an antenna and record some digital footage of rally aus next weekend, but i'm quite forgetful..

Brian: is the Alpine rally going to be a day or night rally this year?
And good luck - go the staz!

I would not expect any TV coverage as we are only a support catagory for the main action. As far as I know we will be on twice each night, an hour before the WRC cars, on Thur, Fri and Sat.

This is more a fun event but will be taken quite seriously I'm sure.

Chris, How are you. The Alpine is a two day event, starting in Lakes Entrance at noon on Sat. and ends around two on Sunday afternoon.
Will be quite a challange to go the distance, but that is what an Alpine is all about. As we are only the Zero car and not competing I will run a fairly soft engine set up to go the distance.
