New Zealand

Post by WANTSOM »

There was just a show on TV here called "Getaway" that was featuring New Zealand.

You guys there have one gorgeous country. :beer

I used to want to go to Europe but with a country like yours only a few hours away Europe can go screw itself. I'm gonna get my butt over there vey soon and have a bloody long look around. :D

Cheers
Greg

You should come see Tasmaina, it is very similar to New Zealand.

You're right on the money there Greg and last nights episode was amazing timing as just this week I started investigating hiring one of those campervans and touring the south island.

I've had 2 quotes back from campervan hire companies and it looks like about $350NZD per day, fully insured, for a 6 berth with shower & toilet.

I've also had friends & family go to the south island in the last 12 months and come back with amazing stories of the varied environments and great extreme sports activities

So, hopefully, I'll be over there in Jan '06 :D

Well, I expect a cavalcade of Starions to mark my arrival in Christchurch on the 8th Jan 2006. OK, how about a boy scout on a bicycle with a Starion sticker on it then :D

I'm all booked in for a 10 day tour of the south island in a self drive 6 berth campervan arriving on the 8th & leaving on the 19th. We actually fly in quite late on the 8th so I don't expect any welcome but I wouldn't mind catching up with some of our kiwi mates for a beer and a chat while I'm over there :beer

Can't wait to check out all of the amazing sites your place has to offer. What kind of weather should I cater for while I'm there? We're going to try and go as far south as we can so I gather it might get a bit chilly?

Cheers Guys

At that time of year it gets farken hot in the south. They have the hottest temperatures in summer and the coldest in winter.

It's a shame you aren't going to be there a week earlier, the new years eve NZ v SL cricket match in Queenstown should be a corker..
