like... wtf???

Post by Chryzla »

Get this. went and looked at my staz the other day... in my mates front yard.. and i couldnt believe what i saw when i took the car cover off....

the god damn stupid useless seatbelts have gone mouldy... now i dont understand this because the weather seals on the staz are in excelent condition... how the hell did moisture get in there?

so now im up for new seat belts... anyone in adelaide know a place that redoes them? also be great if they did replace the springy things that are shat too.

but how wierd is that!!! i have no idea why it happened...

ah well, 9 months of sitting there crashed aint do it good

i also forgot the tires are almost new too.. hope they will be alright after the car not moving for so long.

Chuck your staz up on bricks so you dont get nasty flat spots on your tyres

With all the shade of the car cover and sitting in your mates yard I'm not too surprised, have you switched the vents over to 'recycle air'?
Watch your speed - It's virtually impossible to pick it out of the carpet if it gets blown off the table.

I've seen this happen to two cars that had been left sitting for several weeks without being opened, one was in a garage and the other was outside under a tarpaulan so I don't think the mould needs excessive moisture to grow, just stagnant air and the humidity in the air. Why it only grows on seatbelts is beyond me though.

It might pay to wear a mask or rag over your face when your cleaning it up, some moulds can make you really sick/dead :?

ill just replace them..

what those autobarn ones have the retractor things or what?

the cars been sitting on dirt so the tyres wont get flat spots as quickly as cement.

its been there 9 months now, being moved to be repaired soon, so its abit late to take the rims off :P

my seats havent arent mouldy.. thats the main thing. hate to have to get them retrimmed again!

dunno why, the JD was covered in white mould that wiped straight off but the belts where by far the worse bit.
I figured out the meaning of life, and since then every day just gets worse.

Warranty void if stupid.

Yes.

It's a full replacement kit. Retractor, Belt, Buckle, and Clasp.

May not have the bolts, as you would just re-use your own.
You think that's fast??? You got nothin' on Roger!!

You can get little dehumidifyers for cars that keep the air nice and dry wihch should keep mold from growing inside.
