BIG THANKS 2 OSCAR - US Freight Forwarding :P

Post by toysrus »

:beer

I owe you a few if you ever come down for Holidays :P

These came in the mail in the same condition they left the states :D

Probably due to the amount of foam spaghetti he choose to use :D

Like more then half a box full

And these are the 'Wide' seats from Alfa Fibreglass here in Australia btw

Weighing in @ 4.6Kg for $180ea which ofcourse will come close to $400ea & 6Kg after getting trimmed in black leather

Would recommend sticking to the 5.5Kg mould down from the orignal 6Kg design if using them for rallying though as their is no real substitute for lateral strength unless using more exotic materials......

Also avoided Duties and GST completely which was nice on $1900 US worth of gear

I wish

Had to get 3 documents plus fill in a Customs Clearance Form, total of 3 Hours work just for them to let it through :P

They wouldn't go on the word of the sender's alone when he ticked the 'Repaired Goods' box and wrote 'Warranty Claim return' :x

I got a few things from Oscar, a big box worth (as big a box as they'll let you by the cheap shipping), i didn't have to fill in anything, just a quick sign and it was mine :) (total was insured for 200 i think, can't remember exactly).

What you can get away with without paying dutys and gst depends on the method of post and the amount, if you receive something by the postal service customs will only charge you if the total for the item is less that 500aud, if you are sending by sea cargo the limit is something like 200 aud.

easiest way around customs is get them sent to youre home address not work or PO Box... i have brought in over $10 000 worth of parts from Japan with customs only picking me up once when i addressed it to work with my work name on top ...

It depends on the custom inspectors and also how much the items are declared for. I've had some stuff sent to my work and it didnt get taxed.
