where to buy Sparco seats
I got leather seats, love the standard seats, adjustable in every way, what’s the point of having non adjustable seats?
Don’t see the point in getting that kind of stuff innless your using it as a track car.
Then you need the full racing harness and shit too, you going to get all that stuff as well?

I have a car. I use it to drive to work, to drive to work I need petrol, petrol cost money, I must work to make this money… it’s a vicious cycle!
only time ive found factory seats to be any good is a set that were freshly reupholstered and rebolstered in velour i think it was (black) the matrial and side bolsteres that were nice and firm meant that they worked well around the track. IIRC it was dirty sanchez's starion. You just tend to slide around on 23 year old leather. Im looking at getting some OBX buckets soon.

You dont really need a racing harness to get the benefit of a fixed bucket seat, with bigger side bolster you wont slide around like you would in the standard seat.SOWTZ wrote:I got leather seats, love the standard seats, adjustable in every way, what’s the point of having non adjustable seats?

Evo lancer seats are recaro arent they, they would cost a bomb just to buy and i think they would be in high demand. Also im sorry buy the OBX daytona isnt ADR approved, but actually complies with ADR.GADGET wrote:what about seats from an evo lancer or 3000GT?
factory designs that would be approved and do a great job of holding you in place
originally i was going to get some sparco seats. but after considering price and style. the ones that i wanted that looked nice were 880 each.
i settled on a pair of OBX Forza's
its certainly a different kind of feeling when you are sitting in these mothers. cornering feels totally new. no lateral movement no sliding on the seat and my ass is nice and comfy too. :P

yeah, I have evo recaros in mine, the rails didn't fit at all and weren't aviable to fit, so had to be modified (read: costly excercise)RiceThief wrote:Evo lancer seats are recaro arent they, they would cost a bomb just to buy and i think they would be in high demand.GADGET wrote:what about seats from an evo lancer or 3000GT?

nah its all good, i have heaps of room, still on factory rails so i can slide back and forth, a little lower than stock seats, and im just the right size if not a smidge bigger from being wrapped in them, i'd say a snug fit.
im guessing if i get pulled over, i will have to go through the process of changing my registration to two seater. however that works. do i need to remove the rear seats?

thats exactly the kind of seats i wanna get, they look great.
What did you have to do to get them onto the factory rails, was it a bolt in job?
regoing as a 2 seater involves taking the rear seats out and seatbelts but you will have to put ALL the bolts that you took out back in after everything has been taken out otherwise it leaves holes exposed. Then take it down to your local engineer and he take some piccys and sign off on it and charge you something rediculous (~150 i think mine was). Then you take it to the rta and they keep a record of it (i did mine when the rego was due so dunno if it has to be done straight away) you will more than likely get pulled up when you re rego the car so it will have to be done anyway.

ok, for the fitment of the seats. two 480mm lengths of steel from left to right front and back high tensile nuts/bolts. then drilled holes and high tensile bolts into the buckets, then a little modified seatbelt bracket. dont know how it would go passing the engineers cert.
the seats actually go so far fowards that a rear passenger could easily get in, but they dont recline.
