Post by quest »

Good ones popping up on the u.s. forums lately.

400+ ft-lbs tq at the threads, on pump fuel is exceptionally strong.
460+ ft-lbs is nuts.
Most use your magna intake
Some even on 17 year old stock bottom end or non-ported head or stock camshaft even... amazing
A few old school full wt. widebodys already done low 11s 1/4. hot street car performance
Doesn't take a whole lot to make a 2.6 angry

The 300+ club is for softies :D

C'mon and try for the dark side - the 500Hp club

How big of an Exhaust Housing A/R can the 2.6L spool fine ? 0.86/89 or are we talking in the 1.0-1.10 ?
Computer games don't affect kids I mean if PacMan affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music :D

Big. I have a 1.06 TO4 exhaust and it spools at 2500ish rpm. The big cubes make up for lack of technology!

12cm2 !!!!!!!!! Isn't that a bit excessive? I noticed with the 2lt engine the 8cm2 housing of a TC06 would support around 5500-6000rpm
Watch your speed - It's virtually impossible to pick it out of the carpet if it gets blown off the table.

A 0.82 GT30 did fine on my 2lt when still stock.

300hp on the 2.6 not hard. MPI ?
The 2.6 got the lungs to spin up a big turbo, and they really come alive with high boost.
Most of the dynos are on the older T04b series - v-trim compressor/ 0-trim turbine quite common. 25-28psi does wonders.
The blue 10sec EIP quest on the video ran 11.3 on one, 10.4 spraying a 75 shot. stock 2.6 cam too! PUMP gas!! VERY impressive for a heavy arse 4cylinder car! Does NOT get any better than that for the input
Some 2 valve 1.8L (3TC) old school street toyota corollas run the exact turbo.... goes high 11s/mid 10s on pump
Who needs 4 valve heads ?

I plan to experiment with the mitsu 2L sohc in the same fashion, 20-24psi on a t3/t4. MPI & standalone obviously. Would be interesting to see where the limits are for; oe head gasket, pistons, head & cam. G54b big brother has certainly raised some eyebrows, so.....

No way it's perfectly matched to the 2.6. Mitsubishi knew what they were doing with that one.
