another update on my 1jz swap :)
Engine mounts are done, transmission cross member has been fabbed, well adapted :), and the firewall and transmission tunnel are getting welded back in. The engine fits in there nicely, but I wont have any pics of it actually in the car for a few mroe days since dean is in the process of welding up the firewall and tunnel.

It took me around 3 years to get to that stage with my 2jz swap :) Mind you, I don't exactly spend a lot of time on it, especially lately.
At the rate you're going, you'll definitely get it going before me
In my defence, I also stripped/repaired/painted the whole car and have gone single turbo/programmable ecu which removes a lot of the 'plug and play' factor.

Who cares ohw old it is, I like the car. Wide bodies are sexy period :)
As for the stand alone. I am thinking about just going that route right off the bat. I'm missing one stupid plug for my ecu, and it mnight be about impossible to get, so it may be easier just to do standalone, then less limitations and wiring.
Which stand alone did you go with, and does it support DIS? I was thinking about a AEM, but they are pretty spendy. megasquirt is tempting but I would like to keep a coil over plug setup.
As for going single, hell I probably will, I have been thikning about trying twin 14b turbos, which would be pretty cheap and easy to do, but I can get a 321s tubular manifold for 650.
As for this being a lot of work, I have put 10 fold into troubleshooting the stock g54b fuel system than this swap has taken me. It hasnt really taken that much time. Engine and transmission mounts were done in 2 evenings, the cutting took another evening, then rewelding it all back in is a good 4 evenings, maybe 16 hours.

Well, now the fun part starts. My friend is making me a driveshaft, but I get to start plumbing, wiring, cleaning up, and putting my car back together now :D
Few pics of the engine bolted in. She sits pretty good. I dont know what im going to do for a radiator though. Maybe you 2jz and 1jz guys can let me in on what you plan on running for one.

Yeah i figured as much, I have basically 3 inches to play with in front of the engine before the hood thing. I am thinking maybe do a 3 core stock radiator, which cool way better, and get some slim fal electric fans, or who knows. I really wanted one of the griffin aluminum radiators, but fitting one in would be a trick.
