I made up a plate made of aluminium sheet metal then pop-rivited it onto the remaining bits of dashboard, then covered it with fake checkerplate and a Mitsubishi logo..... The plate makes it strong enough to allow me to attach some switches to it later if I want to...
I know my car's slightly different but I think this is the same problem you guys encounter when installed aftermarket headunit to Starion??

i want some iceland hair gel!
after you have done that, you can either make the cover yourself like scorp1 did, or take it to a stereo fitter to make one. they usually know of a plastics guy who can do that kinda stuff.Alspos wrote:The head unit will attach to the metal frame behind the console. I got lucky, I have 3 seperate DINs, all headunit size.
My Starion came with headdeck + access control + equalisier stock, headdeck bolts straight in where the original came out, and I plan on removing the other two items (if anyone needs these yell out) with APEXi units. Will look pretty and be functional too!
I do like that aluminium cover with the mitsi badge though, hmm choices choices. Can't afford either, so bleh, wait until I have money!

the metal frame is too wide i think some time there have bean litle metal bits that would have bean fastend to the radio then to the frame atleast thats how it was in my friends dodge stealth/mmc 3000gt. So iam just going to make a pease that i´ll glue to the dash and make a din size hole.decoy wrote:i want some iceland hair gel!
