Need info on 1987 mitsubishi van.
The 4G63BT SOHC exhaust manifold bolts up to the 1987-1994 2.4L 4G64B engines, so you can easily convert it to turbo using the Starion manifold/parts.
There are later model 4G64B's but they have a SOHC 16V head. Not sure if the manifolds interchange though.

Just put a 1g dohc on th 4g64, they bolt up, I believe there is a little modification, like filling in some oil return or something. Thes becoming a more popular conquest swap here, is the 4g64 wideblock with the 4g63 dohc.

I have seen a few Hiace vans around the bike races that are definitely not stock. Cooler flutter, whoosh sounds and smokey burnouts tend to give them away. Rumor has it a few are toyota twin turbo powered....... those guys are nuts. I'll have to ask next time if I can see what's under the front seat.
Do they use the 64 crank or the 63?airbats801 wrote:Just put a 1g dohc on th 4g64, they bolt up, I believe there is a little modification, like filling in some oil return or something. Thes becoming a more popular conquest swap here, is the 4g64 wideblock with the 4g63 dohc.

the DOHC 16V intake and exhaust manifolds won't match any SOHC ones.jasevr4 wrote:Thanks NXTIME. I might give Repco a call today and see if they can match the exhaust manifolds between the 8v 4G64's and the 16v 4G63.

sorry to hijack the post, but ive found a 4g64 reconditioned van motor sitting at a wreckers and they want $660 for it.. apparently it has fairly decent compression
i was under the impression the pistons were the same as the 4g63 (same bore just different crank - different stroke)
do the sohc 4g63 heads bolt up to these blocks.. spent a small fortune building a 4g63 head and wouldnt mind getting some decent hp. someone was using a 4g64 with standard internals for 350bhp.. speak up ;)
