You could get it under the batter. Just make sure you wipe off any excess oil before you use it.

cookie I was speaking from past experience this time! My pipe work does actually go under me batter with about 6 pices an 6 joins with a madral bent dounut, but in the end we did get it there.

An about the oil, I'd rather them all lub'd up then a dry one :P

What sort of batter do you use? Vegetable or canola?

cookie, any fat will last years if you dont give a rats about it, it will eventually catch on fire though
