:) I have a few canidates
As for the 240 being lighter, they are an econo box here, so dont even consider them ni the same class. The supra and what not get a lot of their weight from the chassis and parts built for bigger hp.

I'd think the 'econobox' would be the car equipped with tbi and 2 valve per cylinder :) Not exactly weapons of choice to tackle a supra, z32, etc..
Its nice to dream, but the starquest is not in that class.. get real.
In fact, none of the cars you mention can make such a striking contrast to a starquest, as the s13 eh. Call it whatever, but be thankful nissan didn't hang a t3 from the s13.
Furthermore, the s13 has enough -bolt in- nissan powerplants and chasis/drivetrain parts, and a huge enough aftermarket, to enable you to outperform the best of 'em... and do it on an "econobox" budget.

Wrong the G54B is about 20-25kg heavier than the 4G63 SOHC we have. I am not sure about the 4G63 DOHC. The only difference is the head. I can weight one I guess and compare it to the weight of a SOHC head.airbats801 wrote: I cant imagine the g54b waying barely any more than the 4g63, The g54b is pretty damn light, and not much longer, also has about half the aluminum on top as a dohc 4g63 ;)
Wrong extra approx 25kg over the front axle is because of the engine alone compared to our cars. The weight fromt he 2.6 comes from the widebdy cars not the engine. I think an sr20 would be a pretty stupid swap consideirng you guys always have a 4g63, and comparing apples to oranges, I think 6 bolt 4g63 dohc>sr20
The G54B is NOT a light 4 cyl engine.
We have done much research on this including weighting cars and engines. There is an extensive post about this if you do a search.
Complete SOHC head weighs 8.5~9kgs. DOHC is??
Total weight for a JDM widebody is 1340kg (2948 lb). Front wheel weight is 750kg (1650 lb); Rear wheel weight is 590kg (1298 lb). Narrow bodies (JA) weigh 1265kg, not sure on wheel weights??

Anything can be done though. Would involve a custom bellhousing, and a Supra or Starion or similar sized gearbox.

Regardless of what engine you use you're going to find that...
You can't go past the outright angry roar of a 4g63.
Above 4krpm, these cars scream "GIVE IT TO ME" and so... you do :D
The two other engines I've experienced to have the same SORT OF primal roar is a 1jz and the VH45 nissan v8 (rare engines). I suppose for me I love the SOUND of the engine, I'll stay above 4000 rpm all day just to listen to that noise.
Can't go past a 4g63 on full noise!!!!! MmmMmm VR4....

I can't remember. Its one of those W boxes. W58 comes to mind.
There should be heaps of info on this forum about it. Just have a look through using the Search. Its the 'what to do' when you keep breaking Starion boxes.

40lbs or more from the us cars comes from the leather seats/interior. They weigh quite a bit more than the cloth seats, also electric seat belts depending on years.mrb1 wrote:Wrong the G54B is about 20-25kg heavier than the 4G63 SOHC we have. The lightest g54b widebody would be the 86 with cloth seats, and I would go as far to say as it is maybe 3030lbs?
The only heavy part of the engine is the beefy crank, which is 42lbs if I remember right. Thats where most of your weight difference between the 2 engines will come from. Block for block, maybe 10 lbs or less? If it was good enough for ralliart and hks to make a group a/b wrally car with, it cant be that heavy ;)
