Barney's update
Hi Guy's
Im getting excited over my car (Not that type of excitment), so i thought i would let you know where im up to.
Car has been stripped, all sound bitumen removed, all internal panel sealant removed and it is now fully seam welded :)
Today I towed it to Steve Maitland Racecar fabrication for the custom weld in roll cage made to Cams 3J (Improved Production) specs. I should have it back by the weekend :)
I have the JE Forged racing pistons with ceramic coating and the Eagle H Beam rod are on the way. I have a Stainless steal exhaust manifold with T3 flange, 45mm External wastegate. A custom intake manifold and plenum is curently being built by Grant at Per4manz Turbo's, Grant is also organising the Ball Bearing ITS Turbo. The fuel tank has been removed and i am now using a 38ltr plastic race tank that sits on the boot. I have made a surge tank that bolts up to the base of the new tank. The surge tank then goes thru a hole in the spare tyre well to the exterior of the car. A Bosch 910 pump will then suck straght from the surge tank, no lift pump required :)
+ Lots more expensive things that I just cant remember at the moment :(
So when i get the car back. I will dummy fit everything , then off to the panel beaters :D

Matey, that sounds all very lush and almost sexual.....except for the ceramic coated pistons. We used these in the GRPA cars and they were prone to failure on the first sign of detonation. I know they were tried on the sierras with no luck as well, and the Nissans at Gibson.
Unless there has been a big improvement in ceramic bonding technology you may have problems.

Ceramic coating is proving to be the way to go in the rice drag cars over here. I surpose i will find out.
