I went to the movies and saw "Cannonball Run 2", and became VERY interested in a certain black car that featured in it.
Many years later, I was looking for something to replace my first car, the GH Scorpion, and came across a red JA series II in a car yard. I fell In love and traded my Scorpion on it, and have been hooked ever since. Despite having no end of problems with it, I still have that same car, 9 years on, and have since bought 4 more, in various states of disrepair and completedness.
I am such an idiot! LOL

I had a shitbox sigma that i'd spend huge amounts of money on over the years - started as a smokey 2.0L/4 speed and ended up as reasonably modified 2.6/5 speed (actually, in retrospect it ended up being a fairly quick car for an old 2.6). Then I was looking at getting another sigma and sticking something along the lines of a supercharged VN motor in it .. anyway, I just happened to drive past a Starion one day and decided to do that instead (coz it looked cool :))
I was still obsessed with the idea of a motor swap so I ran through possible motors and went with the most difficult and most expensive one I could find (2jz-gte) which as i've proven, was the most difficult and most expensive one I could have picked (4 years and still no go ). I will get there one day :)
It's cool driving a car that most people don't know what it is, and the ones that do are usually these old guys that tell me how they really wanted one back in 1982 but since they cost about 3 times what they earned..

Had wanted one for a while, so when i sold my previous car i started looking for one. None came up and i needed a car realy fast. ( Uni in orange started in under a week) so i put a post up here and went and got one in Penrith. Which has since turned out o be the biggest money bit ever.
Now own two of them that will both be sold in the next few months to finance a 13b front cut for my series 4 rx7.
May come back to them one day, possibly when i have lots of money and can afford to modify a widebody :D

hmm, i got my first one when i was 18 (12 years ago) i got it because i wanted a car that would give my mates mk5 cortinas and hq wagons a kicking. a bit of overkill i think, but it worked.
then i went to a celica/supra, then another one, and then another one. i loved them, still do really.
but the story continues, ive just bought my next one...
saw it last night, water to air intercooler, needs rebuild, deregoed. lol.
hasnt seen sunshine for about 3 years.
plenty of pics to come as we drag it out of the shed where its been hibernating.
oh, and il get pics of its cavemate, a nz new jd, 5 stud rims, black leather interior... and badly needing a new home, but the owner wont sell it. :x

Bought a mk3 capri when I was 15, worked on it, got tired of it sitting in the garage doing nothing but eating money so I sold it.
A while after I wanted another classic/to be classic car, so I bought a 83 celica supra, auto stuffed itself and the rust grew from the inside out (seems to be a toyota thing).. so I let go of it with no idea where to turn.
My mate told me about starions and said I'd probably like them, three days later I owned one. Although when I first saw it I was a bit reluctant as it was someones runabout with chipped gold rims worn paint and a few dings here and there, but it grew on me very fast especially after I painted the rims black, I saw the light.
Have no idea what car I'd have if I hadn't bought a staz  Now I'm hooked

your all gonna hate me,
but my dad did all the work (respray , tyres, engine, exhaust, stereo, sunroof, gas...list goes on).
Day I turned 18 handed over the keys!

My JA has perfect motor - FMIC - forgies - high flow head but...rusted front guards and keyed on every panel. Time to get serious or time to take it to the tip.
