A lot of those defects look like legitimate defects. The only extreme one is the torn seat.

Pigsarse :x

Quality brake pads effect braking more then a small leak would, and the wider wheels would more then account for the leak in terms of safety.

The Battery one is just being asked to be defected for and personally I don't like the look of cannons on Starions, a 3" - 11" x 5" : 18" Offset Straight Thru mandrel bends' Stainless Steel Genie muffler set me back $200 and the Full 3" SS mandrel exhaust system is about 2dB quieter than my old 2.5" press-bent exhaust with the rice Cannon on it.

Riiiight. So the ADR should read "Brake master cylinder should have no leaks except if you have some really good brake pads."

Well done.

You would've saved a bundle.

Copper: You're master cylinder is leaking. You're gonna have to fix that.
Toysrus: No way man... you can't be serious... check out my wide rims.

Toys -

Your logic lacks logic - dont go saying brakes can leak so long as you have good pads. if the fluid dont get there you've got nothing.

And really who cares whether you have a 1 poofteenth over half a freckle mandrel bend sideswiped. ducksgutted heatseeking canon exhaust or whether you run a frikkiin bit of drainpipe. The laws are real simple matey - too loud - defect!! Simple.

Yes its a bummer getting a defect and no doubt LxS was and is mightlily pee'd off about it all but read what was picked on - most of it safety or EPA oriented.

Thats is all :beer
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

Unfortunately the first thing they do is inform you they are recording your conversation and the second is take your license and make you follow them, so if you run, your going to get caught anyway considering they have your license!

Starion Turbo: nah, i took my BOV off a long time ago it was really annoying me.. lucky though, thats another $300 EPA fine. I have a bleed valve on the car but they didnt say anything.

As for the EPA exhuast fine they have dropped the fine, and just want me to drop 1dB out of it.. which is good news.

I can understand getting a defect for tyres, they are slicks in the rear..i will take that.
I dont understand how they can red sticker the car for a small crack at the top of the brake res. the cop new it was still fine, he was just being an ass.

All the other stuff is a load of crap, red blinkers, a tear in the seat... yeeah right. Too low? it only JUST hit in the mid section of the car when the 3inch exhuast comes through.. anyway i had my whinge, they cant keep it off the road, I will be back driving around in 2 weeks.

with the 'too low' thing, what is the clearance minimum supposed to be, and how do they measure it?
what and where are tyre stickers?

I don't think you understand the whole story, most of the time they pick on the Master cylinder leak marks which are from spillage or just oil spray marks, I had the Master cylinder picked on ages ago only to spend $60 finding out it was perfect and its such a grey area that next time they try to do me for it, I'm gonna screw them over till they beg me to forget about it. I'm sick of cops making judgement calls on grey areas and not taking responsibility for their decisions.

Mandrel bends within offset mufflers reduce the noise output further which is why Genie switched to the madrel bends late 2000.

Read what you wrote before. You were referring to leaks, not spills.

Yeah I know.......but then you get into the area of how to determine a leak by looking at it etc ?

If you want Lxs, send me a JA one and I'll modify it to whatever you want, I'll charge a bit for the time etc but that'll be about it, if its gonna look too different I'll let you know before going at it. PM me if you wish to do this

thanks cookie, i thought that must be it.

now, i think we need to come up with a new JA/JB/JD tyre plackard sticker.
something a bit closer to todays expected standards.
we have enough competant photo-choppers out there, how about it!

maybe start with some US '87 spec stickers, or just get some off something else, hehe.
