Very easy to make your own. Will cost you less than $30 in materials.

plese tell us more!!
i gotta muck around with my gear box this weekend and wouldn't mind tinkering around a bit :) are there any guides online? i did a kit for my bro's vr4 and all it took was a couple of washers and some bolts.

good fun watching the rexie boys look at you punishing your gearbox while they cringe quickshifting theirs waiting for it to go pop

All you need to do is lengthen the distance between the ball joint and the pivot point by 20mm. Then you need to create a 20mm spacer to move the whole assembly up.

All you need is some 10mm thick alloy.. short length of steel rod (20mm).. 4 long bolts and some gasket paper.

1) Remove Gearstick
2) Hacksaw balljoint off end of gearstick.
3) Weld ball onto 20mm steel rod.
4) Weld steel rod onto gearstick.
5) Cut out a rectangular piece of 10mm thick alloy that matches the size of the gearstick base.
6) Drill the 4 holes for the bolts in the rectangular alloy plate
7) Cut large hole in centre of alloy to allow gearstick to go through and have adequate movement.
8) Repeat steps 6 and 7 (ie you need two 10mm plates)
9) Cut 3 pieces of gasket paper (1 between plates, 1 on top of plates and 1 below plates.
10) Grab your 4 longer bolts and bolt it all in.

I've never had any problems. It has seen plenty of track use with no drama's.

Just makes sure you weld the rod and ball on well. Don't want that breaking and falling into the recesses of the gearbox.

shifter

Post by Jesusdroveawestfield »

Im running a 30mm shifter kit in my Starion. Shifts are really short and I never miss a shift even on the track. Driving a standard Starion is like driving a Willies Jeep now LOL
