Completely unrelated to staz's but I thought I'd just ask your opinions, I've started doing tradework and need to get myself a decent drill, just wondering what you guys reckon are the best for a decent price? I'd love a DeWalt but I think that may have to wait a while.

Just buy whatever is on special, make sure it comes with 2 batteries and a charger. Honestly, its not worth the money to buy a really expensive one. I think mine is a "Reobi" or some shit. Make sure it has a good variable speed trigger, and 2 gears.

I decent set of drill bits is worth its weight in gold tho, makes for a nice professional job :).

Cordless.... more volts the better.

Power..... Metabo is what I have, drills holes in lots of stuff.

I had a hitachi battery drill and found that great, one battery is sad and the charger died though.
I bought a DeWalt drill a month back and found it to be very good and a bit cheaper than the Makita equivalent, plus dewalt have a 3 year warranty. Cost me $275 for my 12V which is all i need for the work i do.
Im a cabinetmaker so im useing drills all the time for various things.

Just make sure you get 2 batteries and a 1 hour charger really.
And what every voltage you need to do the work you will be useing it for, more voltage more grunt.
Battery drills sure aint cheap anymore though :(

Hmmm $600 dollars on a power drill :? Nothing beats 50nm of torque though

Wen't hunting round today, bosch switzerland make a 18V model which puts out around 42NM of torque, has an LCD panel on the back to display motor temp, battery life and also recommends a torque setting and has a control for which material your going to drill through. Seems cool, I'm easily taken in by pointless crap :P rrp's for $278 with two 1.5mAh batteries and a 1hr charger.

What I really want to know is do any of you have any experiences with bosch tools?

I use bosch tools....and makita.....and gmc ( I love throw away tools) and ozito ( great, cheap little grinders) and yes, I am a tradesman.

Ozito... Cant complain about a 13 dollar sander.. Havent managed to kill the bastard either

were do you buy ozito products from, im in the market for a $13 angle grinder for use with a wire brush attachment, will be looking around tomorrow.
