Well not really they are RWD. Mitsubishi factory team rallied these cars extensively.

As far as i know they were produced from 1980 - 1982. Mine is 1982.
They're quite hard to fing over here.

'tis a damn shame that these were never sold here as they are a cool car. Not as cool as the First model Lancer though!

This Lancer was built from march 1981 to february 1983.
They are understatement at its best. A 4 door sedan running like a sportscar. :D
