At that speed you might find you need an LSD too.

Well it would be fixed by now but I haven't had time. Basically I was working on the car tired, picked up the wrong bottle, filled up the power steering resivoir. Car starts sweet, drives too, just wont turn.

Stuff will not flush out at all, so its either to a mechanic or swap the box myself. I have a spare system, and cash if I need a mechanic, just haven't put the time in to sort it yet.

(Mystery fluid was car wash concentrate, hence the sig)

Water will dilute the detergent, slowly but surely........what I woult try to do if possible, is hook up the garden hose to one end and open along the lines after the water travel through the box and back up again, somewhere along there, and just let it run through on low water pressure, you would have to block the end of the resoiver which you unhook the return line from, and hook up a hose to that hose to redirct the returning water to the ground away from electirc connections etc

Running it for 30 or so mins should do the trick, just to be sure, feel the water coming out after 30mins before you turn it off, and see how it is.

When you are sure the water has flushed it, put a goldfish in the water. If it lives for more than 24 hours, the system will be detergent-free ;)

"do you have any gold fish small enough to fit in a powersteering system?"
Watch your speed - It's virtually impossible to pick it out of the carpet if it gets blown off the table.

mine sits nice and flat at 220+
It's not the engine or LSD...it's called quality suspension...
Koni plus all new urethane bushes and king springs, a good combination.

I feel better now :D

Where did you test that out?

The quality of NZ roads I wouldn't think would be suitable for that sort of speed (yes, I know your from adel)

The Desert Rd, big part of SH1, longest straights in the country (officially) and the tarmac is in good condition and fairly wide in areas because it needs to keep vehicles safe in icey conditions. Its NZ's hot spot for 'lets see how fast it can go cuz'.

Most of the roads up this end are pretty good, just the occasional crap arse and SH3. I hate SH3. Kapiti Coast sucks donkey balls too, as does the Taupo Access Rd - although it does have a nice view.

Personally my favourite, is motorways early in the morning when there are no other cars at all, and its a big distance between on ramps (e.g. the new Hamilton to Auckland motorway). Good suspension is important.

Im just going to drink it. I can taste that leftover taste from when you dont rinse glasses after a wash, so sure I can do the test.

Sounds like a good idea, just leave the hose running in and out. Ive got rubber pipe here too that'll just clip right on the system. Guessing I will need to turn the wheels every once and a while though.
