Why the Starion will ALWAYS be slower than the Cordia :P

I'm curious how you changed the speedo. Have you changed the speedo drive in the gearbox or played with the dash to make it read accurately.

When you reach 330km/h post proof here and I will sell the staz & buy a cordia. ie It'll never happen.

Are you sure about that MrBishi ? I would most likely have to do it on the dyno as Mallala doesn't have a straight long enough and I don't feel like risking my life down Port Wakefield road just to prove it can do so either.....

I had Pulse Electronics re-calibrate the speedo, since it is mechanical and worn out quite badly, 220 + 50% = 330, I'm positive they would have justed tinkered with the gears and the odometer is also reading correctly :P

I think they would have adjusted the clearance between the magnet and speedo drive ie. it will take more revolutions of speedo cable to get speedo to same speed. Let us know how accurate their work is when you get this wrong drive car on the road.

I'm saying that 330km/h won't happen purely due to wind & rolling resistance. Take it to the salt flats and prove me wrong. Remember that as speed increases the required HP increases exponentially.

If you are never getting it to 300kph on the road, why change the speedo?

The speedo has been dead accurate since re-calibrating for me at 60 and 100Ks' and highly recommend their work so far :P

And yes, I know HP is increased exponentially to overcome wind resistance etc, but if the 8 Series BMW can clock over 300Ks' with only 300-420Hp in a 2200Kg lead weight, then I see no reason why 500Hp and 1100Kg can't

Fuel, I'm tempted to bring it down one day over your way and see it over 300Km/hr before your very own eyes, if your game enuff to join me inside :D

....which says in general 300Hp at the flywheel = 250Km/hr :beer

Which is accurate. 300ZX was 300hp, top speed was 250.

But for 330Km/hr you'll need a bit more than 500 :)

Assuming a Huge Frontal area and a bad co-efficient of Drag and including my weight in the Cordia, all I need is 440Hp at the flywheel rofl

You know what's even worse, I bet you that calculation is based for Rwds' which means I can get away with 15% less power too LOL

hmm, I may have to get the speedo re-calibrated up to 400Km/hr when I'm finished on the Engine :D

Dear Toysrus,
Some friendly advice from your RWD friend;

Step 1: Build your 330km/h, 500hp, 10sec Cordia.
Step 2: Boast on Austarion about how l33t it is yo.

Important : Ensure that above steps are performed in order.

In the meantime stop posting about it and leave us all in the real world where basic physics principles apply.

He's just winding us up :P In the SOHC thread he said he was aiming for 200kW. Even he knows if he had the power 330km/h in a Cordia aint gonna happen without huge $ spent on aerodynamics (downforce etc), uprated equipment, and especially suspension and very costly tyres.

If he is serious, Ill crap myself.

This thread has not dented Toyrus's credibility at all.

He had none to start with.

Just wondering what diff ratio he would need to crack 300.... or how many revs on the standard one...... hmmmm, I know a staz is 6K at 240, so 330 would be 8250? I can hardly wait...
