I'm not sure on actual dimensions, but the ones I need will fit into the '83 narrowbody 4-stud starquest the US got. I'm not sure if they upsized the diff at the same time as in AU - around mid '85.
If you can make any sense of this :D and can help you will hear from me.

Well I DO understand.

Here's the situation....
The 83's use a smaller diff housing using a 7" crown and the SMALL housings are almost impossible to locate in the trucks we need to swap the 7" crowns from with the 3:90's. Those will be difficult to locate here. And due to age the gears will have at least 200K miles on them OR MORE, so they may NOT be in the best of shape.

You may need to upgrade to a large diff and if you do just go LSD on it at the same time. But that is NOT a mod for everyone.

Cheers mate - that's what I suspected.
I have an LSD at the moment, so it makes sense to try and reuse the centre. I'll let you know when I get desperate enough to upgrade to the next size.
