Christchurch is a tad south of Hobart. And 13ish is pretty good for winter at these latitudes

I love Mt. Wellington, when I was there last year I saw a van get spun almost 360 degrees by wind and black ice . It happened very slowly, but the shit-scared look on the drivers face was a pissa rofl

I took the mountainous route down from devenport to hobart, and the big dirt stretch past the great lake was good fun, I reckon the falcon wagon didn't have complete traction for about 10km through the snowy/sludgy roads

yeah the lakes highway.....nice road.....not so good to break down on though....speaking from experience :x

Mt Wellington is a regular place for the locals to go play in the ice. We were up there on Wednesday night to see the snow and there were two cars full of guys playing silly buggers. Well one car. The guy with the "Rana" didn't want to risk his shiny bits.

Rana = Torana, correct.

it is the Tasmanian (Australian?) colloquial term for Torana following the Australian habit of shortening everything.

Underpants...undies, sunglasses....sunnies, relatives....rellies. We're a lazy bunch.
