Need a Roll Cage?

Post by Cookiemonster »

If anyone needs a roll-cage then contact Bond Roll Bars. They can do a complete bolt-in 6 point cage for $856. Door bars are an extra $121 each. I got the complete cage for $1098.

I recently bought the kit from them and when I got it home and started trying to fit it I was having troubles. I called Bond Roll Bars and Alan came out to my place that evening to have a look. He took some measurements and concluded that some of the bar angles were not correct. They had never made up a cage for a Starion and they only had a drawing dating back many years which turned out was not correct.

Anyway, next morning I recieved a call from Bond Roll Bars and he asked me to bring the car in and they'll modify the cage and fit it for free.

So they completely fitted and painted my cage totally free of charge. I assisted them and it took a whole day. And they updated their drawing as apparently my Starion was the first Starion they had made a cage for.

But hows that for customer service? Damn awesome I reckon. And they now have an up to date drawing to suit our cars. You can buy the cage as a kit and they will ship anywhere in Australia. And it's CAMS approved.

Excellent report on the roll cage, Cookie. Looks great. Do you know if the cages are also ANDRA-approved?

I don't know. You would have to call Bond and ask them.

I don't know what it will do down the 1/4. It isn't being prepared as a drag-car. It will be used for circuit racing.

Maybe one day I'll throw it down the 1/4 just to satisfy my curiosity. Still a few more things to be done though. Stay tuned.. :)
