Injector flow?

ehehe I would. 390cc 450cc 490cc 550cc are standard mitsi injector sizes, I saw a forum discussing the injectors which mentioned 300cc, this making it approximately 2/3 the size of 390cc which mentioned in an earlier post was the approximate difference between Jap/Aussie Starions.

So as far as guesses go, its probably not far off. VR4 had 450cc I beleive, and this would of been an upgrade along with DOHC, so go one size down, and viola 390cc.

Ill email Mitsi NZ and ask. They answered a lot of my Starion questions in the past.

Starion only has 2 injectors remember. They are 2 big bastards... a lot bigger than 390cc.

4 x vr4 injectors then divide that by the number of injectors that a Starion has.

Flappa, your old man tested my pairs, thats how I know :)

Greg, I told you a few days after I bought them off you.

I also bought a pair of "grey top" Jb injectors, but there flow was about 40% less that the correct JB inj's, but they make great templates for building the manifold.

Standard JB Injectors?

Well, I'm just guessing, but if I lick my finger and stick my finger in the air
within the vicinity of a JB injector, I'd guess....

420cc per minute @ 80% Duty cycle, at 3000 pulses per second, with
3 bar of pressure.

Probably the equivalent of some "800cc" injector...

Anyway, I'm just guessing... If you want to know for certain, pull them
out and send a pair to Coltspeed. He can test them for you, then you will
know what each is capable of, and it's flow rate. I don't know what he
charges for the service.

Or you can build a flow bench, if you know what you are doing... And
never ever use fuel for flow testing... You need some special stuff that
isn't flammable.

It's difficult to tell a Starion injector flow rate as they all vary and none of
them have markings.

But other than that, a standard JB injector has a pretty high flow rate.

Dont happen to have an details on the impedance and switching speeds of them do you? :) Rekon it would be a good idea to use 4 of them for an MPI setup?

I do know a fellow with 6 injectors out of late model jap import intercooled starions.. should flow quite a bit... but how well can they be controlled?

black top ones = apprx 900. Am I right

I'm using 4 jbs on my quad setup with an early wolf 3d, the ecu side isnt sorted/ running yet, but I will post when its running to my satisfaction.
some say the inj's wont idle, others say they will be fine

If early JB ones are 900cc, then i'd seriously doubt you'll get a decent idle with an early wolf3d....

but i dont think they would flow that much?

hell, i rekon they're all so old and crapped out, that the only way you'll find the flow rate of your injectors is to have them flow-tested :D
