Tailshaft, diff, CVs ?

More likely to be diff or CVs if it's more pronounced turning corners (usually in one direction more than the other).

Drop the tailshaft and check the uni joints first. If these are stuffed you're going to put strain on other bits. 15 minute job to remove and check the tailshaft.

Tailshaft Uni's were replaced about 12 months ago (due to unfortunate uni snapping incident)

Is it since you got the diff done?

how much is it to get the unijoint replaced? that's what my feeling is it might be as well...

If it is the drive shaft, get it seen to quickly.

I ended up paying over a grand having my gearbox rebuilt and a brand new driveshaft put in. Seized uni joints basically shook everything to bits.

Well replacing the uni joints may be a fairly pointless exercise, it was balanced when the shaft was repaired and they did a pretty good job. Check the rear one maybe, but the front one should be sweet (it's a holden one with holden yokes)

By the way i was looking at your website tom, the exhaust is 3 inch from the dump pipe and it's a stainless muffler. I wouldnt be getting rid of that for a while :)

nah, the other one has full 3" back s/s... the one on there will go with the car, there is already a buyer in the flanks :) the suspension will be sold with it also. the drivetrain and engine will be transplanted.. current plans for the engine are:
* Garrett GT30 hybri (rated @ 600hp)
* Fidenza cam gears
* HKS 272 cams
* mitsubishi 4 steel layer head gasket
* HKS SSQV
* Cryo2 cooling
* NZ Spec wooly exhaust gasket.
* HKS FPR
* 45mm China gate

and that's about it for now.... I'm hoping to get about 350hp with that and a bit of tuning....
then do a bit more of the interior before moving back to engine and getting more serious cooling (triple core, new I/C, etc)

back to the knocking, my mech is going to take a look @ my car next week while I'm still at work, so it should be fixed by the time I get home from thailand.
