Trolley Jacks

Post by dirty sanchez »

I need to replace my stuffed trolley jack, I was looking at the new light-weight alloy jacks. Can anyone recommend a good jack at a reasonable price?

nooooo
you broke the high lift jack?
that thing was awesome.

i was talking to someone about this, i havnt actually rung these guys or even found out there phone number yet, but he told me this is the best place to get a good jack for cheap.

go under the name of grahams rubber or joplin jacks, they are in granville, i guess thats not much help for you, but i guess you could price them.

Beware the cheap alluminium jacks. A mate of mine bought one from ebay & it looked great and was light. I was seriously considering one until he jacked his camaro up, the support pad broke, making the car fall and leaving a nasty punch mark in his new custom fuel tank.

Remember that cheap and good are nearly always mutually exclusive.

My elcheapo one is slowly dying, after 15 years of faithful service and I cbf re doing the o-rings in it. Supercheap here I come..... $39 :D

Or maybe ebay?

Looks identical to the one I already have..... except for my steel home made handle.

Nah, that was Steve, this is Jamie.... I can't beleive you would mix us up, don't you recognize my typing style?

Steve's jack is awesome but it's absolutely huge and very heavy, and the damn thing lifts so high that we needed a new set of axle stands because the old ones wouldn't go high enough. It is perfect for workshop use but it is in no way portable and takes up a lot of garage space.... plus it's about $600!

I'm after something relatively portable (so preferably reasonably light) that still lifts to a decent height and that is small enough to store in the garage without taking up its own car space. My budget is around $300.
