Hi
Fist time post on this site.
I rally a 1981 lancer turbo in NZ. 4G63- TC05/TCO6. intercooler, link ECU, 1 bar boost, 4.6 LSD and EX2000 grear box, EX 2000 frount end.
Its a blast to drive and puts a few of those BDA Escorts to shame at local events. Ran at the Race to the Sky at Easter and was wasting a left hand drive import factory BDA untill intercooler hose blew off.
I been reading all the great posts on this site and have to say there is a wealth of information for starion people. I have a jap import A183A in the shed that I might restore. Digtal dash model.
Also there is a 12v model at the local scrap yard. Is the 12v model worth anything or are they as commom as the 8v ones? Also has 5 stud wheels.

No you don't. It's not as good as everyone makes it out to be.iXNAY wrote:i want 12v give me, give me, give me!
With an SOHC 8v you can have the head ported, have a choice of many off the shelf cams, easily adapt it to multi-point, get spare parts.
A 12V head is rare. Any cam mods are a custom job. Any MPI mods are a custom job. The parts for them are rare.
Either give the 8V head a good working over or go twincam.
