Non working JB Injectors

Post by Ric »

Hi

Does anyone have an old/non working JB injector or two?

Will pay something for them including postage.

Non working JB injectors

Post by JDSTAZ45 »

Hi Ric,

I used to own a JB and I remember paying $475 for a new injector!!
Anyway, I checked in the shed and found the old one which from memory
was leaking...and/or not spraying properly.

Let me know if you're interested.

Cheers

Non-working JB Injectors

No!
A couple of old non working injectors will be cut in half, pulled apart.
We want to dismantle leaky but working injectors to replace the internal O rings which are the source of the leaking problem. We will then reseal the injectors with fuel proof epoxy.

Anyway thats our plan however we are still working on the dismantling.

Ric,
I'd reckon it would be easier (not easy) and perhaps a more permanent fix it you grafted another sort of injector in. I'm sure your injector specialist could supply you with similar capacity & resistance etc injectors. Then a matter of making them work in your TBI & new plugs.

Our US cousins have similar problems with the 2.6 injectors & apparently a similar yet easily obtainable alternative is available. A few small mods to the TBI & wiring and you are leak free.

Hi Mr Bishi
Your comments and advice much appreciated. I went down the possible rebuild track as I thought that an alternate TBI injector was not available.
I would have thought that the injection specialist would have suggested using this approach if it was.
I am certainly open to advice and would be pleased to hear from owners who have stuck with the TBI system. I really need to know what injectors are used and the wiring etc changes.

Again thanks for for advice.

Ric,
try the bottom of the following page;
http://www.trilogyturbos.com/shop2.cfm?ct=28&st=53

They are made for the 2.6 in the states so injector capacities may be different. Obviously more homework needs to be done.

Good luck pulling one apart, I used a grinder to get one apart
once :)

I think Powerflow? Injection make a replacement kit that comes
with a new rail/regulator and 2 new injectors.
