1/4 mile times

Post by JD_Stazza_Brendan »

My JD is basicly stock. All i have done is put in is a 3inch mandrel bent exhaust from the last join back. (about a foot or 2 in front of the diff, getting it finished when more money is available), and a bleed valve which i havent played with really. Boost is 8psi.

On monday i ran a 16.9 at about 88mph. This was on street tyres, with about half a tank of fuel, and racing in the QLD afternoon heat. This was only my second time at the drags.
Previous best was a 18.1 with bad gear changes and my ignition timing out by almost 7 degrees.

I didnt get to better my 16.9 as on the start of my second pass the alternator died, and as such the rest of the car died.

Is a 16.9 alright ?????, i heard they ran 16.7- 16.8 standard

i remember reading 15.5 back in the old day, there were 2 factory figures floating around and that was the lower of the two.
